Fillers

When it comes to cosmetic injections, Botox® isn’t the only game in town.  Depending on the area you’d like to treat, a dermal filler may compliment your cosmetic injection treatment plan.

 What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are a general term used to describe the large family of hyaluronic-acid gels used to replenish volume, augment facial features, and smooth lines and wrinkles.

There are many different types of dermal fillers with unique characteristics that make them best suited for one area of the face over another. The team at PAS will determine the best option based on your goals.

Why We Love Dermal Fillers

Collagen and elastin production decline as we age.  When this happens, you may begin to notice your face losing volume.  This can start as early as age 20! Wrinkles, lines, and folds become more apparent.  Areas such as your lips also begin to lose volume and support.  Dermal fillers are designed to replace volume that is lost in a natural and conservative way, making them a popular choice among our guests and a go-to tool for our providers.

What areas of the face can be treated with filler?

Any area of the face may be treated with the proper filler and technique. This includes any wrinkle or line you don’t like, areas that need more volume, and areas that can be contoured and smoothed. At PAS, we offer a comprehensive plan of action that addresses the natural aging process. The most common areas treated are the temples, cheeks, smile lines, lips, frown lines, chin and the jaw line. In the neck we provide innovative treatments with filler, including bio-stimulatory filler such as Radiesse that stimulates both collagen and elastin growth.

Can the body be treated with filler?

Absolutely. Any area of the body showing crepey skin, skin “stretchiness”, or cellulite may be treated. Our most common areas of the body we treat include the neck, decolletage, arms, elbows, butt, thighs, and knees. We will often pair dermal fillers with other treatments available at PAS to achieve optimal results for our guests.

Why are there so many kinds of fillers and how do I know which to pick?

Each filler posseses unique molecular properties making it ideal in some areas, and not ideal in others. So, PAS offers a variety of filler options to ensure we’re using the best product to accomodate your goals.  You don’t need to worry about selecting a filler.  If you know you want a non-surgical solution that can eliminate the signs of aging, add volume or provide facial contouring, contact us.  Dr. Greco and her team will determine which filler is right for you.

How long does each filler last?

The duration of your filler results will depend on several factors, including the area of the face that was injected, and the type of filler used. In general, filler placed in areas with a lot of movement, such as the lips, will last less, approximately 6-12 months. Filler placed in areas of little movement, such as the temples and under-eyes, will last much longer, potentially 18 months or more.  During your consultation, we’ll discuss which filler we plan to use and how long you can expect it to last based on your unique circumstances.

Aside from anti-aging, what other ways can you use filler?

Filler can be used to not only reverse the signs of aging once they appear but it can also be used as a preventative tool.  Clients in their 20s and 30s are using neuromodulators (filler) to literally stop aging in its tracks.  An advanced injector like Dr. Greco can also use neuromodulator to correct facial asymmetries, such as uneven brow height, or difference in eye opening.

I went to a cheaper injector and I'm not happy with my results. Can you help?

Injections are not something you should ever price shop.  Always select a provider who is experienced and receives regular training.  If you did go somewhere else and are not happy with the results, please schedule a consultation.  We are happy to evaluate your circumstances and make recommendations.

      Do fillers hurt?

A strong prescription-strength anesthetic cream is applied before any filler treatment. In addition, all of our fillers are formulated with lidocaine, a numbing agent, to make your treatment even more comfortable. Combined with our expert, gentle techniques, you can rest assured. We have other tricks as well including gentle vibration, or ice. Some patients opt to use no anesthetic.
